The Story

I didn't have words.
So I had track seven.

For most of my life, if you asked how I was feeling, I couldn't tell you. Not wouldn't. Couldn't. The feeling was in there somewhere. The words just weren't.

So when someone asked, I'd hand them my headphones. “Listen to track seven.” That was the most honest answer I had. And at home, I'd play the same playlist fifty times in a row, because hearing the same thing, the same way, over and over, was the only way I knew to bring my body back down after a day of holding it all together.
